I went there because I wanna see Cherry blossoms in Taiwan (^_^)
Start from early morning went to Kaohsiung main station to Chiayi County using the train. Taking a train is more convenient than a bus in Taiwan. Why? because of the price almost equal, we can see the more beautiful scenery, and from the Chiayi station is nearer to the destination moreover we can continue our trip directly via Alishan forest railway.
When arrived in Chiayi station, my friends and I have to continue to the destination via car. We could not use Alishan forest railway because the middle of the way was closed. Using a car was like rent with other people, one car should fill seven people so we must wait till the car full. The price for every person is around 300 NTD. Waaauw the scenery was so beautiful and marvelous. The driver will give me one chance to go to the toilet and just take a rest for ten minutes.
These are some photos during the trip using the car with the sensation of the road up and down during the misty winter . . . so you have to prepare the plastics to keep up if you are intoxicated. Don't eat too much before you arrived in the destination and Don't forget to wear a thick jacket.
After around 3 hours, we arrived in Alishan \(^_^)/ Yeaaaay .. I was so happy, I was really excited to go around the Alishan and meet cherry blossom (my purpose of the vacation). The first time, you will see many stores and food courts. Then, you can choose some alternatives. Firstly, you will take a shuttle bus to the top of Ali mountain. Secondly, you want to take a train to see the forest. The last, you can walk around the Alishan to see cherry blossom in the above of the mountain. However, my choice was the third choices because I have limited time (so sad) my friend has to come back Kaohsiung in the evening so we have to come back Chiayi Alishan around 3 p.m. Thus I just have 3 hours to walk around Alishan for watching cherry blossom and shopping in the stores.
Actually, some of my Taiwanese friends suggested me to stay overnight in Chiayi County. So you can explore all the tourist places in Chiayi. But, I have to continue my trip to Taoyuan and Taipei. Thus, we just went to one place in Chiayi County. Now, I will show you my gallery photos during in Chiayi.

2016 Alishan Cherry Blossom Festival
The annual Alishan Cherry Blossom Festival will be started from March 10th to April 10th (2016) at Alishan Forest Recreation Area. There are more than 10 kinds of cherry trees in Alishan Forest Recreation Area, including Yoshino cherry tree, Formosan cherry tree, Fuji cherry tree, Yaezakura cherry tree. Among all of them, Alishan is especially famous for the large amount of Yoshino cherry trees. Alishan Forest Recreation Area has more than 1,900 Yoshino cherry trees, making Alishan the only and the largest area for Yoshino cherry blossom in Taiwan. Alishan Forest Recreation Area is located in Chiayi County, Taiwan, about 2 hours away from HSR Chiayi Station. Set with an altitude over 2,000 meters, Alishan has the perfect landscape and climate for diverse ecologies. During the flower season, in addition to cherry blossoms, magnolia, Crocus Tritonia, Taiwan Alpine Rhododendron and Taiwan Pleione are also bloom. The fascinating sight of Alishan is definitely a must see in the flower season.

Alishan Forest Recreation Area
Alishan Forest Recreation Area is located within Alishan National Scenic Area and is one of the most scenic spots in Taiwan. The climate does not change much throughout four seasons. Average temperatures hover around 10 degree Celsius, making Alishan a great place to get away from the hot and humid summers of Taiwan.
Alishan Forest Recreation Area contains the largest train station in Taiwan made entirely of wood and was established in 2007 with an accompanying observatory. Therefore, once you arrive at Alishan Forest Recreation Area, you have all the tools to best appreciate the famous sea of clouds and other breathtaking views such as sunrise and sunset. In addition, you can see the cliff of Ta Mountain, which is the Tsou’s (Indigenous people of Taiwan) sacred mountain. Since the establishment of Alishan road in 1982, the Alishan Forest Recreation Area has become a very popular scenic spot in Alishan tourism. Alishan Forest Recreation is an excellent place for bird watching. The main bird watching trail is the annularity path in the recreation area, it is a four-kilometer path surrounded by forest.
Recently, numerous Alishan hotels and restaurants open up in the area, which has made Alishan a popular shopping district for souvenirs and unique aboriginal cuisines. The recreation area is divided into two parts: west and east. The west side has Ciyun temple and the east side is the divine trees area. There are many attractions to appreciate in Alishan Forest Recreation Area so you may want to allow for a couple of days here when planning.
